About DASL
The Duluth Amateur Soccer League summer season typically begins the third week in May and runs through mid-August. Games are usually scheduled, but not limited to, Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons. League schedules are comprised of a minimum of 10 regular season games plus one play-off game. Registration fees are $1700 per team and the amount each individual player pays will vary due to sponsorships provided from area businesses for that team. Players can typically look at paying $80-$100 for the entire season, which includes; their league scheduled games, referee fees, field fees and personal and liability insurance coverage.
Who can play?
This DASL minimum age is 16. DASL encourages all able-bodied individuals, young and not so young, to get involved. Soccer is a “life-sport” that takes limited equipment (and sometimes skill) to have a great time and build new relationships. Even if you have never played before, that’s ok. DASL’s mission is to not only to promote the sport, but provide a recreational resource for all men and women.
How do I get involved?
If you are new to the area, have no team affiliation, are over the age of 16 and/or are interested in playing soccer, a DASL registration form must be filled out. That form should then be mailed to the Executive Director. The Executive Director, upon receipt of the form, will proceed to send your registration form to team managers for their review. Team managers, depending on their team’s individual needs, will contact you. In the event that you are not picked up by a team, DASL forms a list of those players and if that list reaches 18 or greater, will form a team independent of all others. This team will be entered automatically into the Second Division and will be managed by DASL. League fee’s for each player will be $100, which will include; their league scheduled games, jersey, referee fees, field fees and personal and liability insurance coverage.
